The Council

Owston Ferry Parish Council comprises of 11 elected Councillors who work on a voluntary basis.  The Council meets on the last Thursday of the month at 7 pm and holds 10 meetings per year.  The Councillors welcome suggestions and residents are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings where 15 minutes at the start of each meeting is set aside for members of the public.  Alternatively, members of the public may contact the council via the Clerk by email, telephone or using the contact sheet on this website.

The Parish Council coordinates the wishes of, and benefits to, the community at large. This could be: reporting highway deficiencies; working with the police to combat vandalism; supporting initiatives such as retaining community assets or simply spotting where there is a street light out, a tree or hedge that needs attention and getting the work completed as quickly, efficiently and economically as possible.
